MossShire Main Street

This road made of tightly packed dirt runs straight through the center of the small village. The street is just wide enough for four horses abreast to travel down, though it would be hard for them to given the amount of people that are on the road. Shops line either side of the street, though little lies beyond that.

Walking out of the tavern, Darien makes his way down the street to the stable. After a few moments, he reemerges riding a dun mare. He then continues North on the road out of town, till he reaches the closest point to the woods, and turns his horse into the dark and disappears.

The rising sun finds Darien laying against a travel pack, half lounging at the edge of the woods. His mare tied off not far from him. A staff leans against a fallen tree within easy reach.

Once outside Kodiak takes a good notice of the different shops and uses his senses to take in his surroundings, heads over to the barn as well to collect his dark brown stallion.

With the time drawing near for the others to arrive, Darien starts a small fire and cooks up a small breakfast, with a hot tea.

Kodiak spots Startalon coming out of the apothecary(sp?). Nods to him and heads down the road to a small campfire.

As the two approach, Darien fixes them each a cup of the hot tea to sooth aching heads. He then lounges as he chews on his breakfast, gesturing for the others to help themselves.

Kodiak makes an offering of bread, it does the rounds. Kristo is sent off to fend for himself, though staying near.

"I see both of you survived the evening" grinning at Startalon

"So what more have you to share with us about the clues, Darien? If one is near , we need to consider this town and it's travelers as well.

"survived!? you call this surviving?" He walks over to the fire and pulls out a canteen, a battered tin cup, and a brown pouch that he opens with his teeth. pouring the water into the cup and the contents of the pouch as well he heats it up over the fire until it is steaming hot. drinking it all in one gulp still steaming he gasps and a shiver passes through him.

"i hate human medicine, so unrefined."

he sits on the ground next to the tree and pulls out a battered and well read book that is bound in the deepest black leather anyone has ever seen. muttering a small word and a small carresing of the book cover, the bindings glow a dark maroon color. the color of dried blood. he begins to read the book very quickly devoting his spells to memory.

"Dont worry about this." he says. "i can Devote and listen and talk at the same time. it only requires a small amount of concentration once you know the spells."

As the party gathers together in the early morning sunlight, three horsemen ride out of the town and make a direct path to the temporary camp. As they approach, they dismount and draw longswords. From this distance, you can make out that they are humans, and wearing leather armor. The leader of the three, a half step ahead of the others, speaks. "you should speak more quietly when discussing things that ought not be discussed. How you learned of what we are looking for, I don't know. Honestly, I don't care. I was just told to eliminate anyone that might pose a problem, and the three of you seem to be in that category." He continues forward, raising his sword, preparing to swing.

Watching the trio draw near, Darien rises, picking up his staff. Once the leader starts talking, and his intention becomes clear, he starts muttering, and making gestures with his hands. At the conclusion of the mans speech, a small magic missile streaks out from Dariens finger, and explodes on the mans chest.

The lead man stumbles back under the blast, and staggers down to his knees, before recovering and continuing his attack.

at the sight of the three men startalon slowly closes his book and puts it away. calmly rising to his feet he barely spares the others a second glance. he glares at the third man grabbing the mans attention so that they are looking eye to eye and mutters "shirak" as he casts a sleeping spell...

The third of the group stops in midstep, his eyes roll up into his head, and he collapses to the ground

Kodiak hears aproaching foots, along with the others gets to his feet, hand near his short sword. Eyeing how the party is dividing the oncomers, he gives a silent whistle and lunges forward at the second unwelcomed party member.

Kristo comes running from behind the second guy, with blood from a kill on his lips going for a bite at the legs.

As Kodiak moves in to attack, The second man easily turns aside Kodiaks blade, while pushing Kristo off with his foot. He lunges forward to press the attack.
